Methodology for Final Analysis 2012

Final Design Methodology

Summary

This page gives a summary with links to data and programs used to perform the analysis. This page should contain all data and tools necessary to replicate the results of this research. The 2012 is used in many of the pages as the analysis here was performed in 2012.

Step 1 - Determine rainfall maxima

For all rainfall sites used in the analysis, annual maximum rainfall for each duration is determined. In some cases sites were combined to alleviate the issues with missing data. The Annual Maxima are included on the page Annual Rainfall Maxima Data 2012

Step 2 - Fit to GEV Distribution

The maximum data was fit to a GEV distribution. Details of the selection of distributions is included in the narrative and background information available from the FrontPage. The data for this portion of the analysis is available on the page GEV Data Analysis 2012.

Step 3 - Regression Analysis of Data

After the data was analyzed, the Weiss converted values were fit to a regression of form __ using linear methods. This data per stations is available on the spreadsheet at GEV Data Analysis 2012 . The Results of this data reformatted for input into the krig analysis is available at Regression Analysis of Data 2012

Step 4 - Krig Analysis

The final step was to perform a spatial analysis to produce isohyetes. This analysis and the results are on the page Krig Analysis of Data 2012
