GEV Data Analysis (back to Methodology for Final Analysis 2012 )

Summary

The annual maxima were fit to a GEV distribution. This distribution was used to generate predictions for return periods (and corresponding exceedence probabilities) of 500 years, 200 years, 100 years, 50 years, 25 years, 10 years, 5 years, 3 years, and 2 years. Standard methodology for rainfall is to apply Weiss factors based on the data being collected as hourly data. The GEV with and without Weiss factors was reported.
